Paul has been involved in Church leadership for over 25 years. Throughout this time he has become more and more concerned with the Churches ability to ‘GO’. A Gap has developed between Christian communities (Church) and others in our community, especially those that have no interest or intention to connect with God.
For many years he has developed a number of initiatives to make authentic connections with those that 'don't do church'. Mind The Gap is simply an extension of this, seeking to share life's journey with others in an honest, authentic and open way.
In addition, Mind The Gap seeks to help others develop gifting and ministries, utilising what we've called the 'me too' principle. Mentoring, encouraging and supporting others to also ‘Go!'.

More and more, the desire grows in me simply to walk around, greet people, enter their homes, sit on their doorsteps, play ball, throw water, and be known as someone who wants to live with them. Its a privilege to have the time to practice this simple ministry of presence. Still, it is not as simple as it seams. My own desire to be useful, to do something significant, or to be part of some impressive project is so strong that soon my time is taken up with meetings, conferences, study groups, and workshops that prevent me from walking the streets. It is difficult not to have plans, not to organise people around an argument cause, and not to feel that you are working directly for social progress. But I wonder more and more if the first thing shouldn’t be, to know people by name, to eat and drink with them, to listen to their stories and tell your own, and to let them know with words, handshakes, and hugs that you do not simply like them, but truly love them.

Though some refer to it as a "retreat," the term doesn't do it justice with what "retreat" typically brings to mind. Some have called it an "intensive sabbatical," a time away without distractions of our busy lives. Each person walks away describing it differently. For some, it's about their identity in Christ, others describe restoration from being spiritually dry or empty, and some have said that while on the event they found salvation and freedom. Quest has also been compared to a spiritual workout, and much like a physical workout there's warm-up, the workout itself, and cool-down. Find Out More
